Safety Notes
Based on manuals / instructions from L.O.L. Surprise / MGA Entertainment:
Choking Hazard
The product includes many small parts. In similar L.O.L. Surprise sets, there is a warning:
“CHOKING HAZARD – Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.”
Even though this Mega Pack is rated for Age 4+, the small accessories (shoes, bottles, etc.) could still pose a risk if misused.
Water / Color Change Instructions
For color change, use ice water (~32°F / 0°C) for cold color-change effects.
For warm color-change (for dolls that support it), do not use extremely hot water. The manual warns not to exceed ~109.4°F (43°C).
An adult should supervise when children play with water.
After use, thoroughly drain water from dolls and accessories, dry them in a well-ventilated area, and air dry only. Do not use a dryer.
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, since UV / heat may deactivate the color-change feature.
Glitter / Pigment Safety
In some color-change variants with glitter, the instructions note that glitter may tint the water or permanently stain hair if left too long.
There’s also a note to avoid contact with eyes. If pigment / glitter gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly; if irritation persists, seek medical help.
Material Used
The manufacturer (MGA) does not clearly publish a breakdown of materials (like “this part is ABS, that part is PVC”) for this exact Mega Pack.
However: many L.O.L. Surprise dolls are generally made of plastic, as indicated in various product listings. For example, an L.O.L. Surprise product page on Amazon lists “Material: Plastic.”
In similar toy figures (action figures / dolls), ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is often used for the harder parts of the body.
There are third-party sources / knock-off variants that use ABS + soft vinyl for their heads.
On the sustainability front, MGA has announced that some L.O.L. Surprise packaging (spheres) will transition to more eco-friendly materials (like bamboo, sugar-cane-based plastics) in some lines, but this doesn’t necessarily apply to all current Mega Packs.
